We look for colleagues who Care, Dare and Deliver.Job SummaryThe floater position provides breaks to the machine operator and inspector/packers and is responsible for sweeping and cleaning the Finishing Department. Essential Functions
  • Observe all Huhtamaki safety rules and always use safe working methods and procedures to avoid injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company property.
  • Provide work breaks for inspector/packers and gluer operators.
  • Operates a stretch wrap machine and stage finished goods in warehouse.
  • Operate case sealer.
  • Keep WIP pushed up to gluer and nester machines in Finishing Department.
  • Sweep and clean work area.
  • Operate forklift as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, lead persons and operators in matters such as, but not limited to safety, quality, production, etc.
  • Follow SQF and food safety regulations at all times.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Job QualificationsRequired
  • Must successfully complete forklift driving test.
  • Physically capable of moderate to light physical effort equivalent to frequently lifting light to average weight.
  • Frequently lifting 35 pounds over 70% of the work shift.
  • Occasional to frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing.
  • Frequent neck and trunk extension as associated with reaching above shoulders and frequent hand movement in handling of supplies and tools overhead.
  • Constant standing and walking on concrete surface.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention when performing work activities.
  • Exposure to seasonal temperatures.
  • Work 8- or 12-hour shifts with possible overtime.
  • Wear PPE as required.
Preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prefer 1 year of manufacturing experience.
