This position assists the Clubhouse Director with the planning, developing, overseeing, implementation and with the supervision of youth. This position Reports to the Senior Area Director.Clubhouse Responsibilities
- Prepare young people for success by creating and monitoring an environment that facilitates achievement and a sense of self-worth
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment; ensure facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained and in proper working order
- Assist in the planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of programs, services and activities
- Maintain and distribute marketing and promotional materials
- Ensure a productive work environment under the leadership of the Clubhouse Director.
- Support the Clubhouse Director in the management of programs, children, and families.
- Assist with the development of the day to day lessons/programming occurring in the club with follow through with an emphasis in STEM, literacy, mentoring, and athletics.
- Support and ensure the implementation of the daily rotation schedule for the clubhouse.
- Under the guidance of the Clubhouse Director, timely respond to parent phone calls and address all comments and concerns within 24 hours
- Assist with paperwork updates and tracking per Chapter 3270 DHS Regulations.
- Track and log all injury reports
- In partnership with the Clubhouse Director, coordinate transportation of youth to and from school as well as all evening activities; to include bus, van, or parent pick-up/drop-off.
- Support fire drills, lockdowns, shelter in place, and evacuation drills monthly.
- Assist with programming through PA's Quality Rating Improvement System- Keystone STARS
- Follow all regulations through the CACFP Food Program for reimbursement.
- Update and maintain skills in use of current computer information and technology
- Attend all BGCWPA mandatory staff meetings.
- Prepare weekly/monthly program reports
- Actively participate in diversity, equity and inclusion practices and opportunities
- Support Clubhouse Director on all administrative duties assigned.
BGCWPA Responsibilities
- Update and maintain skills in use of current computer information and technology
- Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, organizations, & school districts.
- Promote, stimulate and recruit student membership for the organization
- Assist other employees in establishing a friendly, cooperative relationship with public and private agencies in the area that are serviced by the organization.
- Ability to work variable shifts to include evenings and weekends.
- Time off must be made 2 weeks in advance with Clubhouse Director approval and emergency call offs need to be reserved for true emergencies.
RequirementsA Youth Development Manager shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:
An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children.A high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience with children. - Advanced positive customer service skills needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people in a positive manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Prior experience working with young people is a plus.
- Strong time management, organization, and project prioritization skills are required.
- Proficient in Google Suite.
- The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs function require the following physical demands: lifting & carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing, any/or pulling, climbing to include steps, balancing, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and signification fine fingered dexterity. Ability to tolerate environmental conditions: air conditioning, heat, dust fumes, noise, close quarters, etc.
- Perform all additional duties and tasks assigned by leadership/supervisors
