Floating Family Support Provider (FSP)

Location: Perryville, MO - This position would travel to our outer county offices as part of the position (Perryville, Fredericktown, Ste. Genevieve)

Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Base Pay: $14.42/hour

Minimum Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma / GED / HSE (at minimum)

* Must be a family member with a child who has been, or currently has, a behavioral or emotional disorder.

* Must successfully complete the FSP training as approved and provided by MO DMH

* Must meet appropriate background checks from DSS, DMH, and Law Enforcement Agencies

* Must be a Missouri Resident for at least two years.

* Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Drivers License (Class D for IL Residents), and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCCs Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation. Travel in own vehicle is required.

What is a Family Support Provider?

Family support providers (FSP) assist the parents and caregivers of children up to the age of 25 with serious emotional disorders. FSPs will share information, offer support, and model advocacy skills to assist families/caregivers with overcoming the challenges of raising and supporting a child with serious emotional disorders.

The FSP partners with the Community Support Specialist to support the family as they work to reach their identified goals.

Essential Functions

* Provide information and support to the parent/caregiver so they have a better understanding of their child/youths needs and explore options to be considered as part of their treatment;

* Assist the parent/caregiver in understanding the planning process and the importance of their voice in the development and implementation of the individualized treatment plan;

* Provide support to empower the parents/caregivers to be a voice for their child/youth and family in the planning meeting;

* Work with the family to highlight the importance of individualized planning and the strengths-based approach;

* Assist the family in understanding the roles of the various providers and the importance of the team approach;

* Discuss the benefit of natural supports within their family and community;

* Introduce methods for problem solving and developing strategies to address issues that need work;

* Provide support and information to parents/caregivers of Transition Age Youth related to the shift from being the decision maker to being the support to the youth as they become more independent.

* Connecting families to community resources.

* Engagement/re-engagement efforts.

* Education regarding services available through CCC.

* Community outreach/education.

* Participate as a member of the clinical team

* Providing clients point of view at team meetings, treatment planning meetings, and psychiatric visits.
