Job Description:

A multi-generational, family-owned owner/operator with a diverse portfolio of sustainable residential real estate assets in New York City is hiring a Portfolio Leasing Consultant to support the leasing efforts of their full residential portfolio of 15+ multifamily properties. This reputable company prides itself on providing high levels of customer service and support to tenants and residents.

What the Job Entails:

  • Supports the residential leasing process at a portfolio level, partnering with onsite leasing teams.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for leads from the property website and schedules/facilitates apartment showings.
  • Develops and executes marketing strategies to attract new tenants.
  • Negotiates lease terms and overcomes objections to align with company objectives, SOPs, and market trends.
  • Schedules and conducts prospect showing appointments, including nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Provides feedback from showings to onsite leasing teams and gathers/responds to renter questions.
  • Prepares regular reports on leasing activity, occupancy levels, and financial performance.
  • Collaborates with the Revenue Manager on pricing feedback or objections

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of residential leasing experience in New York City or surrounding boroughs.
  • Ability to travel locally within Manhattan, with regular travel between multiple buildings (approximately 50-60% of the role).
  • Availability to tour prospects after hours and on weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating effectively, and navigating legal documents such as lease agreements.
  • Highly organized and conscientious when adhering to deadlines and follow-up obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sales skills, collaborate with various teams, and achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency in Yardi property management software and basic Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a people-oriented approach.
  • Analytical ability to match prospective needs with available apartments and provide exceptional client service.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary is $75K - $95K per year based on experience.
  • This position is eligible for a discretionary quarterly bonus.
