Works from blueprints, parts lists and assembly cards. Uses parts washers, freezers, ovens, cranes, fork trucks, hand, and power tools. Will shim and final assemble gear units. Can work alone, with other assemblers, and oversees lower grade assemblers and May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Job Responsibilities:
  • Lathe experience helpful but not required
  • General shop safety training
  • Shop computers (EATRC, Work Standards)
  • Parts washer use
  • Crane operation and safety
  • Proper use of chains, shackles, and straps
  • Oven and induction heaters operation and use
  • Must have the ability to be trained by peers
  • Hydraulic torque wrench use in including torque specifications
  • Proper loctite use. (sealants)
  • Measuring equipment use(mic's, veneers.)
  • Knowledge of bearings
  • Basic Knowledge of Lean and SPS
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • A combination of formal education, training and experience to acquire knowledge and skills generally equivalent to those possessed by an experienced high school graduate.
  • Typically 0-2 years prior experience in wind turbine assembly.
