$18.40/hrThe Floor Equipment Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all floor equipment used to perform the maintenance of floors. The Floor Equipment Operator must also perform preventive maintenance on all equipment as outlined in the equipment technical manual and the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Maintains all floor areas, including carpet for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation of commercial buildings using advanced mechanical equipment.
- Responsible for sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing the floor surfaces.
- Maintains knowledge of principles of hard-surface floor maintenance and uses proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping and refinishing, buffing, and burnishing using mechanical equipment.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of issued floor equipment and reports maintenance issues to supervisor.
- Requests for supplies and equipment to supervisor.
- Cleans hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
- Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
- Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
- Sets an example through dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and personal appearance.
- May be required to train other employees on how to properly use, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Fills in for janitor as needed.
- Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.

Skills and Abilities:
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident for at least 3 years
- Experience in floor maintenance, e.g. stripping and waxing floors preferred.
- Possess the ability to pass and hold a security clearance background check.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
- Ability to apply good judgment in fulfilling responsibilities.
- Must possess and demonstrate high initiative, adaptability, reliability, flexibility, and convey a positive team member attitude.
- Ability to maintain a proficient level of knowledge on the different types of floor machines, safe operation, care, and upkeep. Must practice the safe operation of all electrical and battery-driven floor cleaning equipment.
