Job Title: Floor Supervisor Location: Barn Resort, Gettysburg, PA Department: Food and BeverageReports to: Restaurant ManagerPosition Summary: The Floor Supervisor at the Barn Resort is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the buffet-style restaurant, ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience for guests while maintaining a high standard of service. This position works closely with the Food and Beverage Management team and Executive Chef to uphold operational excellence, ensure staff performance meets expectations, handle customer feedback, manage cash handling processes, and assist with special events. RequirementsKey Responsibilities:Staff Supervision & Role Expectations: - Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of front-of-house staff, ensuring that all duties are performed in accordance with company policies and service standards. - Conduct regular briefings to ensure staff is informed of daily priorities, events, and any changes in procedures or menu offerings. - Monitor staff performance, providing feedback, conducting training, and ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards. - Address any staffing issues or concerns and report to management as needed.Customer Engagement & Feedback: - Maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor, ensuring guests' needs are met promptly and professionally. - Gather and evaluate customer feedback to identify areas of improvement in service quality and overall guest experience. - Respond to guest inquiries or complaints with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction. - Collaborate with management to implement customer service improvements based on feedback.Cash Handling & Financial Procedures: - Oversee cash handling processes, including monitoring cash register transactions, ensuring accurate billing, and managing cash drawers. - Ensure proper closing procedures are followed, including securing cash and financial reports. - Monitor and reconcile any discrepancies in cash handling or transactions, reporting issues to management as necessary.Collaboration with Management and Executive Chef: - Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager and Executive Chef to ensure smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams. - Assist in coordinating the flow of guests and maintaining operational efficiency during peak dining hours. - Help with inventory and stock management to ensure that supplies are adequately stocked for service needs. - Participate in the planning and execution of special events, ensuring that food and service meet guest expectations.Special Event Assistance: - Provide support during special events (e.g., private parties, holiday buffets, corporate events), ensuring a high standard of service is maintained. - Assist with event setup, coordination, and guest interaction, ensuring seamless execution. - Ensure that the buffet setup, food presentation, and replenishment are handled efficiently during events.Qualifications: Experience: - Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a supervisory role within a buffet or similar dining setting. - Strong knowledge of hospitality industry standards, guest service practices, and food safety protocols.Skills: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team and interact positively with guests. - Strong organizational skills, able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. - Basic math skills for cash handling and reporting. - Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve conflicts effectively.Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. - Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed (e.g., assisting with event setup).Other Requirements: - Must be flexible with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for special events. - Knowledge of POS system (Toast) and cash handling procedures is a plus.Work Environment:The Floor Supervisor will be based in the buffet-style restaurant at the Barn Resort in Gettysburg, PA.
