Floor-Tech Primary Job Function
The primary purpose of this position is to provide a clean and safe environment through the facilitys floorcare program. This includes keeping all floorcare equipment in a clean and safe operational condition. Along with the floorcare responsibilities, this position requires complying with all safety and survey regulations
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Providing facility with floorcare in accordance with policies and procedures to facilitate a clean and safe floor environment as indicated by:
- Maintaining and following established floorcare tasks according to facility guidelines to ensure compliance with QA standards;
- Following floorcare schedules each day and providing an overall balanced floor cleaning program;
Following chemical instructions to properly mix solutions and ensuring adequate cleaning results;
- Maintaining knowledge of all pertinent regulations, policies and procedures to provide a clean and safe environment for the residents, staff and visitors;
- Maintaining all floorcare records to comply with schedules;
- Ensuring that all floorcare equipment, supplies and other tools are clean and properly stored before leaving on break, lunch and at the end of the day;
- Coordinating all work with other departments work schedule to avoid interferences when possible;
- Disposing of all empty containers from the days use into the proper refuse containers;
- Maintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure resident rights, privacy and property are protected at all times;
- Reporting and documenting resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facilitys policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting system; &
- Turning in all found articles to the housekeeping supervisor or Administrator;
- Following periodic cleaning schedules for equipment and returning equipment to proper area after use, &
- Ensuring that work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Primary Responsibilities

- Following floorcare schedules each day and providing an overall balanced floor cleaning program

- The ability to seek out new methods and principles, then be willing to incorporate them into existing procedures;
- The ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of the work area;
- The ability to follow oral and verbal instructions, function independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action;
- The possession of personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel;
- The ability to get along with departments as a Team Player;
- The ability to prioritize the performance of tasks, duties and responsibilities in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures;
- The ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Corporate Compliance;
- Patience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and a willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity and physical level in which they are currently functioning;
- The ability to adhere to professional code of ethics; and
- The ability to relate information concerning a residents condition.
- Desired qualifications include:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
- At least five (5) years of floorcare experience is preferred, but not required.
