Job Description:
We're looking for an experienced manager to direct and coordinate the daily operations of the concession stands and bars at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.What you will do
  • Assists in the maintenance, care and use of food, supplies, cleaning supplies andequipment, etc.
  • Performs regular inspections of the concessions stands, bars and buffet at the Fair Grounds for sanitation, order, upkeep and supply control and safety procedures.
  • Ensures that all concessions staff follows established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies at all times.
  • Assists the Director of Food Services and Housekeeping in the management of the budget for the concessions stands and recommending efficiencies and more effective methods of operating the stands.
  • Orders food, alcoholic beverages and drinks, supplies and equipment for the concessions stands, bars and buffet as well as maintains adequate inventory levels to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
  • May assist in the supervision of food services for specialty theme events.
  • Communicates with his direct reports to adequately plan for services and activities.
  • Promotes safe work practices.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Performs other job duties and projects as assigned.
What it Takes
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Some college classes in business or equivalent field preferred.
  • Minimum five years of high volume food service (fast food business, restaurant, banquet, special events) experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a current Louisiana Responsible Alcohol Server certification.
  • Must be able obtain Louisiana State Racing Commission license.
  • Must be willing to submit a drug screening and background check.
