Join the Summer Staff at Marlboro Music
Marlboro Music is renowned for being one of the world's leading centers for chamber music, offering an immersive experience for professional musicians. Each summer, 80 musicians from diverse backgrounds gather in southern Vermont to rehearse and perform under the artistic leadership of Mitsuko Uchida and Jonathan Biss. The community is made up of musicians, staff, and their families, all living and working together in a supportive and creative environment.
Position: Coffee Shop Staff
The Coffee Shop is a key social space on campus, serving as both a gathering place for late breakfasts and a venue for evening light fare and socializing. We are looking for a Coffee Shop Manager and Coffee Shop Staff members to join our team. Together, you'll help create a welcoming atmosphere, maintain a weekly menu, and work with the Festival Coordinator and Hospitality Director to plan evening events and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in a friendly, efficient manner.
- Develop two simple menus for the season: one for breakfast and one for late-night snacks. You may build on previous menus or introduce new dishes while ensuring consistency and variety.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized space for staff and festival participants.
- Collaborate with the Festival Coordinator and Hospitality Director on special events and evening activities.
- Ensure smooth daily operations and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Prior food preparation and customer service experience is preferred.
- A friendly, flexible attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- A passion for creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Job Details:
- Duration: June 12 – August 26, 2025.
- Hours: Staff work six days a week during the festival season, plus assistance with pre- and post-season set-up and breakdown.
