Fills in as needed at all site locations.Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor and/or Certified Food Service Manager onsite, the Food Associate Substitute will perform duties in compliance with implementation of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for early childhood programs that complies with USDA and Head Start requirements and other state and local requirements for food sanitation and safety.Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.Essential Functions
Wears uniform, hair net, apron, and plastic gloves and follows established hand-washing procedures.Comes to work and maintains a hygienic condition without signs or symptoms of illness that may contaminate the food preparation and service environment.Sets up sanitized cloths for wiping dishes and wiping tables and carts.Maintains sanitation of work area, food carts, and serving utensils.Follows safe food handling practices.Receives food from caterer, recording food temperatures in temperature log. Notes deviations/problems and brings to attention of site director and nutritionist.Sets-up family style meal service for breakfast, lunch, and/or afternoon snack, depending on employment schedule, according to posted menu and established meal times.Distributes meals to classrooms.Cleans-up following meals and snacks.Disposes of left-over food.Keeps food and supply cabinet/s and service carts clean and in good order.Reports defective equipment, unsafe and unsanitary conditions immediately to the Site Supervisor and/or Lead Food Service Manager.Cleans food and supply cabinet/s, refrigerator and food warmers out once a week.Takes inventory of supplies - forks, spoons, and napkins.Great Employer Provided Benefits

Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. All degrees must be from a regionally accredited educational institution which has US Department of Education approval.Some food handling experience is required.Current Food Sanitation Certification, or must be acquired within six (6) months of employment.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and constructively with persons from all racial, diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.Passage of complete background clearance, physical and Tuberculosis (TB) Test.A valid driver's license, reliable means of transportation and proof of liability insurance is required.
