We are currently looking for a Food Forensics Associate to join our growing team!

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Food Forensics isolates filth elements from various food products and performs chemical analysis on spices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Performs wet chemical analysis to isolate micro extraneous filth elements from various food products.

* Performs chemical analysis to determine spice quality.

* Reports results for basic tests.

* Actively participates in and understands all relevant Quality Control testing requirements.

* Other duties as required.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

* Using the appropriate SOP's, performs wet chemical analysis to accurately isolate microextraneous filth elements from various food products.

* Accurately report results for analytical testing performed.

* Actively participate in any Spice Chemical Proficiency Samples Program deemed relevant by Certified Laboratories.

* Utilizing the appropriate reagents, prepares solutions necessary to perform filth extractions. Including accurately labeling and record keeping of all solutions and reagents prepared.

* Performs qualitative and quantitative spice chemical analysis using the proper Compendial methodology and/or SOP's.

* Macroscopically analyze various food products to isolate and quantify visual contaminants.

* Maintain proficiency while use and calibration of the top loaders and analytical balances.

* Awareness in the proper use and care of various microscopes.

* Works effectively other departments.

* Proactively looking for ways to help others.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* BS degree and appropriate industry specific experience, or BA/BS degree, preferably in life sciences; current employees without the required degree have been grandfathered based on their years of experience already in the position.

* Strong relevant qualitative and quantitative skills.

* Excellent organizational skills - ability to use your time, energy, resources, etc. in an effective manner.

* Proven attention to detail with effective organizational skills.

* Excellent hand/eye coordination.

* Excellent manual dexterity.

* Ability to distinguish colors.

* Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
