JOB TITLE:Food Pantry AssistantDEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB:FVCC Food Pantry and Student Engagement Office, Kalispell CampusELIGIBILITY:Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)START DATE:This position will start Fall Semester 2024.LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:Academic Calendar Year 2024/2025PAY RANGE:$13.00 to $14.00 per hour depending on experienceWORK SCHEDULE:Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may work up to 19 hours per week.DRESS CODE:Business casual with appropriate coveragePOSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:Supports and promotes the FVCC Food Pantry operations under the supervision of the Student Engagement Coordinator.POSITION DUTIES:* Performs customer service by greeting and offering to assist clients* Processes intake and distribution of pantry items* Develops marketing materials to promote the food pantry on campus* Creates and promotes monthly events* Maintains organization and neatness of food pantry* Stocks food donation;* Provided information on additional resources for food insecurity* May perform other like duties as requested.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* Current FVCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester, and* Ability to ensure and maintain client confidentiality and privacy, and* Ability to work independently with a minimal level of supervision as well as in a team environment, and* Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated, and* Ability to provide quality customer service and interact in a pleasant and professional manner, and ability to positively work with students, faculty, staff, clients and community partners, and* Possess good organizational skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Previous customer service experienceSTUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT:Communication, critical and reflective thinking, customer service, leadership, professionalism, teamworkPREDICTED OUTCOME:Practical competence, critical thinking, collaboration, communicating effectively, technological competence, demonstrating professionalism, teamworkSTUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:* Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.* Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.* Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.* Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATIONS, REFERENCE CHECKS, AND CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS: Prior to offers of student employment, FVCC may conduct thorough employment verifications and reference checks and may contact organizations and individuals not listed on an applicant's application or resume.
