Summary
This position manages key programs and projects for the Food Safety and Product Development team by collecting, organizing, maintaining and analyzing critical information relating to: product and processing changes and new product launches, GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) Audit readiness, USDA regulatory compliance and label approval, customer communications relating to food safety and product specifications.
In addition, the Food Regulatory Specialist will support the FS&PD team with: product and ingredient audits, managing the sample request process and assisting with R&D testing in the processing plant.
Essential Functions
· Manage product and process change and new item process.
· Manage sample request process – organize sample requests, collect products, ship samples.
· Manage Supplier Documentation
· Manage/complete customer requests related to Food Safety and Product Development.
· Manage COA's
· Manage GMP Trend Data
· Write/update Procedure Documents
· Assist in New Item Setup
· Create and update Food Safety training documentation
· Manage Plate Count and ATP Data
· Manage USDA Label Approval process
· Create Nutritional Labels
· Manage updates to FQM Food Safety Quality Manual
· Perform daily HACCP Documentation
· Collaborate with Safety Coordinator with required documentation including updating of SDS and maintaining Lock out Tag out procedures.
Competencies
· Ability to Perform QA & Product Development Tasks in all departments (Raw,RTE,Boxing).
· Project a positive attitude and protect Frick's Quality Meats, Inc. image of honesty and integrity.
· Should have great knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
· Will be trained to navigate and understand Frick's Ammonia software as it relates to HACCP
· Will be trained to navigate and understand Frick's oven software

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities at this time. However, clear and consistent communication with the team and cross-functional teams is required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position is expected to work full-time on-site at the Washington, Missouri location Monday-Friday 7:00-4:00p and as needed to meet customer needs.
Travel
Travel is not regularly expected but may occasionally be required. Employees are reimbursed for pre-approved company expenses and gas in their personal vehicles.
Education and Experience
Required: B.S. degree in food technology, food science, animal science, food safety
Data analysis
Project management
Must possess excellent, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding organizational, production and coordination abilities.
Experience working with or processing meat products.
Reliability or history of good attendance and must maintain good attendance.
Preferred: Project Management experience and/or certification/course work
HACCP Certification
Work Environment and Physical Demands
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer as well as frequently walking plant floor
· Exposure to work (exposed, work around) in cool, 35 to 45-degree, and damp conditions
· Carry weight, lift (move, transport, position, put, install, remove): lifts production materials weighing up to 50 pounds
