Under the direction of the FSQA Manager, the FSQA Supervisor has the responsibility of overseeing the work performed by the FSQA technicians, manages the FSQA Hold Program, reviewing FSQA documentation, assisting in line checks when needed, and managing the files of FSQA documents. The FSQA Supervisor will provide leadership and assist the FSQA team in the direction that will maintain the FSQA systems in place and make suggestions for continuous improvement to all facility processes.Required QualificationsBachelor's or associate degree in food science or related field is preferred.2-3 years of Food Safety Quality Assurance experience within the food industry field is preferred.HACCP and SQF certifications are preferred.FDA and/or USDA experience or both are preferred.Desired QualificationsGood communication skills.Ability and willingness to follow Standard Operating Procedures.Ability to receive written and verbal directions.Ability to understand general work processes.Bi-lingual (English and Spanish a plus).ResponsibilitiesAs a Co-Practitioner, assists with the implementation, verification, and validation of the SQF program.Cover food safety and quality responsibilities in the absence of the FSQA Manager.The FSQA Supervisor is the designated SQF Practitioner backup.Coordinate FSQA Department scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.Oversees line checks being performed by FSQA technicians.Review FSQA and FSQA-related production documents for completeness.Participate in Mock and Customer-requested Trace Recall Drills.Oversee Environmental Sampling Program including collection of swabs, review of results, corrective actions, and trends.Supervise job specific FSQA Standard Operating Procedure training, documentation, and effectiveness.Assist the FSQA Manager in maintaining Department metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.Assign coverage and responsibility for food safety and quality to the FSQA Manager during absence.Organize and participate in GMP Inspections and monthly Internal Facility Audits.Submits organic Individual Product Profiles (IPP's) to organic certifier to maintain current System Plan Summary (SPS).Prepares FSQA related investigation summary in preparation for Aged Inventory meetings.Works with Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Warehouse personnel to ensure DMR follow-up is occurring.Investigates any Discrepant Material Review issues which are not resolved in a timely manner.Performs incoming raw material evaluation and related documentation.Ensures proper records are maintained verifying allergen clean-ups have taken place.Ensures all finished product specifications are current and communicating the information to the FSQA techs.Assists FSQA Manager with timecard review and management.Performs other duties as assigned that improve the efficiency of the above processes and procedures.Maintains the FSQA Office in an organized and professional manner.Perform additional duties as requested by the FSQA Manager and/or VP.Physical Requirements/ EnvironmentOperates in a manufacturing environment some of which may require hearing protection.Stand for long periods of time and take frequent walks throughout the plant interior and exterior.Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.To view more opportunities, please visit: Latitude 36 Foods Job OpportunitiesLatitude 36 Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we take great pride in our diverse and talented workforce.We are looking for diversity in candidates for employment.We recognize that our continued success depends largely on the collective strengths of our associates.
