We're currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Food Safety Director to oversee our day-to-day operations and help us continue to grow and deliver exceptional service to our larger food distribution clients.As the Food Safety Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our pest control business, ensuring efficient service delivery, managing a team, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of customer service, safety, compliance, and operational efficiency while contributing to the company's growth and success.Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight: Manage and optimize day-to-day operations to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery, from scheduling and logistics to pest control treatments and follow-ups.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of technicians, office staff, and customer service representatives. Foster a positive work culture that emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning.
  • Process Management: Ultimate accountability that everyone on his/her team reads, understands, and adheres to our SOP Manuals . It is also the Leader's responsibility to assist, review and at times be part of refining and re-writing the SOP's, so we are always getting more proficient at every aspect of our performance.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all pest control operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain safety protocols and ensure that technicians adhere to industry standards for pesticide application and safety.
  • Financial Management: Assist with budget planning, tracking expenses, and ensuring operations are cost-effective. Report on key performance metrics and operational costs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements and identify opportunities for streamlining operations to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Retention / Growth / Completion: Oversight of department Quality Control Inspections and Audits while maintaining a minimum 95% YOY customer retention rate.
Travel will be required to conduct audits and check up on our out-of-area clients. Expectation is about 20 days per year. Expenses paid by Hoffman's.Requirements
  • Licensing: Must be an ACE, BCE as well as Certified as a Food Auditor, Quality Control or equivalent
  • Experience: Must have at Least 5 years' experience as a certified pesticide applicator/operator in the state of NJ (New Jersey), PA, and DE with a Pest Control Company or Food Safety Inspection company.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading teams, managing personnel, and driving operational excellence.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pest control methods, equipment, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, staff, and vendors.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with basic office software (MS Office) and field service management software (experience with pest control software is a plus).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
Salary Description $84,000 + Quarterly Bonus
