FSQA Manager
Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the supplier approval program at co-manufacturing and co-packaging facilities for compliance to QA/QC policies and standards.
Work along-side multiple departments with all aspects of product roll-out and compliance checks including sourcing, production runs, facility safety, training, and materials.
Planning, execution, and evaluation of projects while maintaining food safety and regulatory requirements specific to menu development.
Define safety compliance markers for new and/or existing products though laboratory resources (shelf life, micro analysis markers, storage guidelines, etc.).
Responsible for resolution of technical safety issues and complaint/comment feedback that arise during the development, production, handling, or product performance.
Partner with QA/QC to define programs and strategies to reduce risks with products.
Provide timely, accurate and relevant data and analysis to plant and corporate management
Provide leadership, direction and execution of all food safety functions to support the company's food safety goals and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies
Ensure all products produced meet or exceed all customer, regulatory and company requirements as they relate to food safety
Position requires some cross functional skills with QA manager and will assist QA supervisors in decision making when needed in the absence of the QA manager
Manage all activities of the Food Safety department in a manner which results in consistent food safety results as measured through the company matrix and regulatory mandates
Develop, document and implement food safety processes and procedures to ensure product safety is always monitored and maintained
Serve as the catalyst for leading continuous improvement through technology and scientific research in an effort to take the plants food safety program(s) to the next level
Provide leadership and remain an active member of all project teams to ensure food safety concerns are addressed
Maintain open communications with corporate QA, plant management, sales and marketing staffs to ensure each are aware of any potential food safety related concerns with product or product requirements and specifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher
3 - 5 years in a HACCP, QA or food safety supervisory role within poultry and/or food processing experience
Good analytical and both oral and written skills
Experience in further processing may be required
Must have or complete certification status as Certified Food Safety Manager or equivalent and have be HACCP certification
Motivated by achievement, and persists until goals are reached, conveying a sense of urgency
