This includes implementing and maintaining food safety protocols, conducting regular audits and inspections, and training employees on food safety best practices. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing and updating food safety policies and procedures, as well as coordinating and communicating with external regulatory agencies. The primary focus of the role is to maintain a high level of quality and safety in all food products produced by the company. The associate will lead with behaviors that promote cultural change through outstanding associate relationships.Key Responsibilities
  • Promotes and Encourages a culture of Food Safety.
  • Develop and maintain food safety programs and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of production processes, equipment, facilities, and products to identify potential food safety risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and conduct food safety and sanitation training for all employees to ensure they understand and follow safe food handling practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that food safety requirements are integrated into all processes and procedures.
  • Review and analyze production data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in food safety practices.
  • Stay updated on food safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure the company remains compliant and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead investigations and day-to-day management of food safety incidents, working closely with relevant departments to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory agencies and communicate updates and changes to internal teams.
  • Oversee internal and external food safety audits and inspections and ensure the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including reports, logs, and records.
  • Develop and maintain a strong food safety culture within the company, promoting safe practices and fostering a proactive mindset towards food safety
  • QualificationsQualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology or related technical field is required.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food production setting, preferably in a food safety or quality role.
    • Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including FDA and USDA regulations.
    • Experience in developing and implementing food safety programs.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Professional certifications in food safety or quality (e.g. HACCP, SQF, GFSI, PCQI) are required.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
