Position SummaryThe Food Service Assistant 1 (FSA 1) performs the duties associated with a large and complex food service program. Duties include portioning product, vegetable cleaning and preparation, tray line posts, bagging flatware, ware-washing, making toast, cleaning and sanitation, dining rooms, pots and pans, delivery and pick-up, pouring coffee, slicing and buttering bread, assembling nourishments and snacks, and assisting and training new staff. Duties may include working in dining rooms, nourishment, or snack program. This position works as an integral part of the food service team.To view a copy of the job description, click here.Salary InformationThe pay for this position is $16.18 per hour with additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.Pay and hours expectations will follow all state and federal laws and regulations for minor employees.This job does not offer employee benefits.The position is in pay schedule-pay range 03-08.This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.Job DetailsThese are part-time positions with the option to pick up additional hours as desired with no required overtime. FSA 1 employees must work varying hours and weekend shifts as required.LTE jobs are limited to 1,039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.Job duties require the ability to perform work that is medium to heavy in nature. This position frequently lifts up to 50 pounds, pushes/pulls up to 80 pounds, hand grips up to 30 pounds, pinches up to 15 pounds, sits, stands/walks, bends/reaches, climbs and uses hand-eye coordination.Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a background check prior to an offer of employment.Employees at this healthcare facility are required to report their COVID-19 vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information by their third day of employment.QualificationsApplicants must be 16 years of age at the time of hire.Minimally qualified applicants will have experience in:* Production assembly (e.g., set up a line, inspect for accuracy, properly store items, follow procedures, sort, assemble, etc.); and* Interpreting and following posted information (i.e., use appropriate procedures, comprehend and act upon written information)Well-qualified applicants will have experience in:* Food service (e.g., portion and serve food, handle food safely, maintain sanitary work areas and equipment, knowledge of basic equipment/appliances, etc.); and/or* Communicating with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment (e.g., report to supervisor, establish positive relationships, assist co-workers, etc.); and/or* Working in a long-term care facility or providing services to elderly or disabled persons (e.g., long term care, geriatrics, etc.)Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments.
