We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as a Food Service Director.Job DescriptionThe Food Service Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of our school's food service program and provide support to the finance and student information systems. This position involves managing federal reimbursement for student meals, overseeing meal preparation and delivery through an outside catering vendor, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. Additionally, this position will cross-train with and serve as a backup to the Finance Officer and Student Information Systems Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesFederal Reimbursement:* Manage the school's participation in federal meal programs, including the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.* Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork and documentation to the appropriate agencies.* Monitor and track federal reimbursement claims to ensure timely and accurate payments.* Stay informed of federal regulations and guidelines related to school meal programs and implement necessary changes.Vendor Management:* Oversee the relationship with the outside catering vendor, ensuring that meal quality, quantity, and delivery meet the school's standards.* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendor representatives.* Monitor and resolve any issues or concerns related to meal service or delivery.Record Keeping and Reporting:* Maintain accurate records of meal service, participation, and reimbursement data.* Prepare regular reports on meal service, participation rates, and reimbursement claims.* Assist with data entry and analysis to support decision-making.Additional Responsibilities:* Cross-train with the Finance Officer and Student Information Systems Manager to provide backup support.* Assist with general office duties, such as answering phones, filing, and data entry.Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in business administration, food service management, or a related field OR equivalent work experience.* Experience in school food service or a similar field.* Strong understanding of federal regulations and guidelines for school meal programs.* Excellent organizational and time management skills.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
