Williamsburg, Virginia Overview Works under the supervision of the Food Production Manager, Sous Chef and is ultimately responsible to the Director of Dinning Services. Performs all sanitation duties in the Dining Services Department in accordance with the Virginia Health Department and other regulatory agency standards. Operates and maintains all equipment and supplies necessary to perform sanitation duties. What you will do
- Maintains excellent communication skills with parents, children, and co-workers regarding special diets and/or allergies and provides alternatives for such cases.
- Is conscientious about the use of chemicals and supplies. Uses chemicals at prescribe strength and for proper uses. Is not wasteful of chemicals, paper, and other supplies. Handles with care all china, glass, and silverware to minimize loss and damage / breakage.
- Ensures that all dishes, pots, pans, utensils and small wares are washed, rinsed, sanitized and air dried before storing.
- Follows RHS safety guidelines for lifting and moving equipment and supplies.
- Removes trash periodically throughout the shift, maintains clean trash cans with lids and liners at all times. Maintains sanitary conditions at exterior trash bins and loading dock areas.
- Ensures 3 compartment pot sink is clean and set up according to health department standards, and is monitored periodically through out the shift.
- Sweeps and scrubs floors as needed throughout shift and thoroughly at the end of each shift. Maintains wet floor signs during cleaning process.
- Dish machine temperatures are documented properly to ensure proof that the dishes and utensils have been cleaned and sanitized at the proper temperature.
- Demonstrates the ability to keep work area neat, clean and in compliance with RHS, DNV, and State safety standards and HACCP standards. (i.e. Cleans work areas, tables, hot steam tables, sinks, refrigerators, coffee urn, iced tea machine).
Qualifications Education - , High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience - 1-3 years Recent relevant experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications - Food Handlers Card (FH) - State Food Safety (Required)
