JOB DESCRIPTION
Title of Position: Food Service Personnel
Primary Job Functions: To prepare and serve food that is nutritious for school programs. To maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe food service program.
Status: Employee: Full time/Part time
FLSA Overtime Status: Not Exempt: Eligible
Bargaining Unit Status: Excluded

Supervised and Evaluated by: Food Service Manager
Evaluation Period: Annually or as needed
Minimum Qualifications and Credentials Required:
1. Educational Requirements: A high school education or equivalent is required. Advanced training is desirable.
2. Possess Skills and Knowledge: In food preparation and serving, and maintaining a good relationship with those utilizing the school lunch program.
3. Experience: None is required, but employees must be willing to accept instructions and learn from experienced employees and supervisors.
4. Physical Requirements: Should be able to lift up to fifty pounds and have the ability to be on feet for long periods of time as well as completing repetitive motions. Exposure to cold/hot from equipment, high noise levels and odors from cleaning fluids. Appropriate grooming and appearance required.
5. Other: To maintain an excellent working relationship with all segments of the school community.
Essential Functions:
1. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
2. Take pride in work.
3. Complete assigned job and be willing to help wherever needed.
4. Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students.
5. Project a genuine care and concern for all students.
Duties May Include:
1. Assisting on the serving line.
2. Assisting with clean-up which may include mopping floors, cleaning equipment, cleaning restroom, working in the dishroom, sweeping floors, and cleaning the teachers' lounge.
3. Food preparation as directed.
4. Cashiering
5. Operating equipment in the kitchen and cafeteria area.
6. Storing clean dishes and equipment.
7. Storing stock items (freezer, dry storage, cooler, and chemicals).
8. Assisting in recordkeeping and reports.
9. Other tasks as assigned by the food service manager.
