Job Description:
This position responsible for:* Planning, directing and supervising food preparation and food service, but duties may involve food procurement and storage, housekeeping, and other responsibilities of food service management.* Management of employees to include hiring, performance planning and evaluation, orientation, training, discipline and scheduling.* Planning and conducting a sound food service program including ordering of food and supplies, food production and service, and maintaining sanitation standards as defined by the NC Food Code.Longleaf Neuro Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC) is a certified Medicare and Medicaid facility nursing home that provides a continuum of care to both adults with severe and persistent mental illness that also have long-term medical conditions requiring residential, medical and nursing care, and to adults with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or other related dementia. LNMTC facilitates high quality skilled and intermediate nursing care throughout four Nursing Unit Floors and an Alzheimer's Unit that operates 24 hours seven days a week, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.See more of Longleaf and what our employees have to say about it! Qualified applicants must document on the application that they possess all of the following:* Knowledge of methods of preparation and cooking food in a large-scale operation* Knowledge of the use and adaptability of various pieces of kitchen equipment* Knowledge of the methods, material, and equipment used in housekeeping activities* Instructing cooks in proper cooking methods and to direct and supervise kitchen personnel in serving meals and cleaning activities* Evaluating levels of sanitation and food safety and implement corrections when warranted* Following prescribed menus and recipes as well as specific oral and written instructions* Effectively managing and directing food service employeesBachelor's degree dietetics, food management, culinary arts, hospitality management from an appropriately accredited institutionORHigh school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of supervisory experience in the preparation and serving of food in quantity lotsORAn equivalent combination of education and experience.The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
