Support/Hourly - Position - Warehouse Driver Job Number 000####### Start Date Open Date 12/17/2024 Closing Date PRIMARY PURPOSE: The job of the Warehouse Worker/Truck Driver was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the warehousing operations with responsibilities of maintaining the warehouse, receiving and storing shipments, pulling orders, transporting orders over designated routes, ensuring safe operation of vehicles, and loading and unloading orders. QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education/Certification/Abilities• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a related field OR equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.• Must have a minimum of Class B CDL license OR have passed the written exams required for a Class B CDL and be willing and able to pass the driving requirements for this license within sixty (60) days.• Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Texas.• Must maintain the required driver's CDL license.• Pass an annual physical examination• District instructed safety and operational procedure training• Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English• Ability to read, write and comprehend instructionsSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: • Operating equipment used in warehouse operations• Ability to prepare and maintaining accurate recordsMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Exhibits good judgement and logical thinking to determine the best solution for the district, department and school• Understanding of shipping and receiving, as well as the FIFO system of inventory processing• Locates and retrieves food, supplies and equipment from warehouse storage and/or delivers orders to schools in a timely manner• Picks up surplus foods, equipment or supplies• Delivers foods, equipment or supplies to schools based on delivery instructions• Loads and unloads trucks at school facilities• Determines invoice requirements and loads trucks accordingly; separates delivered property in clerical, and cafeteria categories• Performs duties associated with maintaining warehouse areas; clean and free of safety hazards• Participates in an on-call rotation for emergency food pick up• Responds to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty, as necessary, to maintain funcation of District facilities• Ensures all paperwork is signed, dated, and authorized by appropriate school official• Constantly works to improve knowledge and skills• May require overtime, as necessary, to maintain function of District facilities• All other duties as assigned by the director or designeeEQUIPMENT USED:
  • Must operate rider pallet trucks, walk pallet trucks, and fork lifts.

Environment: Performs duties in extreme temperature changes, from outside temperatures to freezers. Constantly moving, with other moving hazards in the area. Loud noises; standing on hard floor surfaces while working; numerous simultaneous activities; dealing with various groups of employees and working with machinery having moving parts.
