Position Type: Kitchen/Food Service Worker - Secondary School SchoolDate Posted: 11/26/2024Location: Paynesville Secondary SchoolPaynesville Area Schools is in search of a Food Service worker at the Secondary Schoolfor the 2024-2025 school year. 3.75 hours per day.JOB SUMMARY: To help prepare and serve nutritious meals to students and assist in cleanup duties as necessary each day.ASSIGNMENT: 3.75 hours/day, 5 days/week% of Time MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 45 - 55%Cleanup
  • Wash dishes from breakfast, lunch and food preparation.
  • Deliver clean trays/utensils to serving line.
  • Sweep/scrub floor.
  • Clean cafeteria tables.
  • Recycle boxes, cans, etc.
  • Clean dishwasher.
  • 20-30%Assist in serving lunch to students.15%Food preparation
  • Help pan food as needed.
  • Help prepare canned/fresh fruits and/or vegetables.
  • Assist in bag lunches/salads, as needed.
  • Assist with transferring food from oven/steamer/warmer.
  • Help prepare breads.
  • 10%Set up serving line/condiment table.
  • Assemble serving utensils and pans on serving line.
  • Fill milk cooler.
  • Prepare condiments to be used for the day/refill in between groups.
  • Refill napkins/silverware.
  • Put down cafeteria tables as needed.
  • CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:Physical Involvement:
  • Position requires extended periods of standing often during the entire shift.
  • Occasional bending/stooping.
  • Lifting of up to fifty pounds with milk cases/freight.
  • Work duties must be completed in a swift manner.
  • Mental Involvement:
  • Position requires need for handling multiple tasks.
  • Work must be accomplished with the pressure of classes being served in a timely fashion.
  • End of day cleanup requires attention to detail.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals, and warm temperatures.
  • Exposure to noise levels from equipment and students.
  • Exposure to potential danger from equipment (slicer, oven).
  • Supervision of Other Employees:
  • This position does not include supervision or work direction of other employees.
  • MIMUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience:
  • No prior experience required.
  • Special Knowledge or Skills:
  • Able to work effectively as a team member with co-workers.
  • Equipment, Machines, Tools, Electronic Devices, Software:
  • Position requires maintenance and daily cleaning of dishwasher.
  • Position requires some knowledge of use of ovens, meat slicer, and mixer.
