DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Adhere to the policies and procedures of Eagle Village and State of Michigan.Must be able to function as part of and in a team setting.Prepare, cook and bake a variety of foods following standard recipes and creating recipes, which meet quality standards.Serve food in an attractive and appetizing manner while following the menu/guidelines.Oversee, direct and delegate tasks to less-qualified food service workers and resident helpers assigned to food service. Serves as Lead Food Service Worker on an as needed temporary basis.Responsible for the cleaning and care of kitchen areas and equipment.Inform Lead Cook or Food Services Supervisor of supply needs.Assist in maintaining storerooms, cooler/freezer and dining areas in a clean and orderly manner.Make deliveries of food items and supplies as required.Coordinate preparation of all daily meals for all Village locations.Inspect and correct, or ensure corrections of, problems with meals prepared by you or others.Completion of all required paperwork in a timely fashion.Assist in facilitating a positive working relationship within the Food Service team and the other Eagle Village programs.Maintain a positive, efficient, confident, and professional demeanor.Working knowledge and adherence to the Eagle Village policy and procedure manual and the employee handbook such as participation in required training, staff meetings, etc.Adhere to and promote the agency's mission and values in the execution of duties while recognizing and appropriately responding to the cultural differences among those served, as well as fellow staff members.Timely completion of all required orientations and in-service training, i.e., C.P.R., Experiential Workshop, and maintain certification of the same, if applicable. Attend all Staff trainings.Compliance with all agency policies, regulations and laws applicable to carrying out duties and responsibilities.Fulfill other periodic job related duties which are assigned by management and not already part of the job description.Flexibility in working all shifts.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This job has no regular supervisory responsibilities. This job sometimes directs resident workers and less experienced workers when a supervisor is not present.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to deal with practical problems and situations involving facts and following established procedures while bearing in mind that our main objective is service to others.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Valid Michigan driver's license and good driving record.
