Job Title: Food Service / CashierPayrate: $16-$17.50/ hour Shift: Part/Full time shifts available Job Summary:The Food Service / Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service while managing transactions, preparing and serving food, and maintaining a clean and organized workspaceThis role requires a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Customer Service:Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with menu selections.Answer questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and specials.Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, seeking resolution or escalating issues as necessary.Cash Handling:Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit payments.Issue receipts, change, and refunds as required.Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.Food Preparation:Prepare and assemble food items according to standard recipes and customer preferences.Ensure food safety and hygiene practices are followed, including proper storage and handling of food items.Maintain a clean and organized work area, including countertops, equipment, and utensils.Service Efficiency:Process orders quickly and accurately, ensuring that food and beverages are delivered in a timely manner.Maintain a high level of efficiency during peak times to manage customer flow and reduce wait times.Inventory Management:Monitor stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies, and report shortages to management.Assist with restocking and organizing inventory as needed.Compliance:Adhere to company policies, health and safety regulations, and food safety guidelines.Complete any required training or certification programs related to food service and cash handling.Team Collaboration:Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.Assist with training new employees and provide support as needed.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous experience in a food service or cashier role is a plus, but not required.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.Work Environment:Fast-paced food service environment.May involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.Requires standing, walking, and occasionally bending or lifting.Additional Information:Opportunities for advancement based on performance and availability.Benefits may include employee discounts, health insurance, and paid time off (depending on the employer).
