Oversee food preparation, portion sizes, and the overall presentation of food. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Stocking and rotating food supplies and non-food products
- Practice personal hygiene and proper sanitation procedures
- Turn on, test, and monitor equipment at the beginning of the day
- Handle cash, make deposits according to district policy
- Assist in menu planning, ordering trucks, and basic P&L responsibilities.
- Food preparations according to written and oral instructions.
- Serve breakfast, lunch, and ala carte items.
- Handle cashiering responsibilities including food and ticket sales and serving of ala carte items.
- Replenish food and maintain a clean work environment.
- Participate in formal and informal training.
- Cold and hot food preparation including cooking, steaming, and baking.
- Customer food service to students, staff, faculty, parents, and guests.
- Monitor food and equipment temperatures at all times.
- Exhibit courtesy and understanding to staff and customers.
- Perform dishwashing duties of cooking, serving, and eating utensils & tools.
- Set up and break down of serving areas.
- Demonstrate knowledge of sanitation practices.
- Exhibit the professional behavior of a reliable employee.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Participate in marketing promotions and special events for students, adults and community.
- Sign in and work according to the time schedule.
- Cleaning, mopping, sanitation, and trash removal of the kitchen and dining room.
- Assisting with duties such as: taking inventory, checking in trucks, and food/supplies breakouts.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager and assistant manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma
- Pass a criminal background check and a drug screening
- Must be physically fit and able to stand for 7 continuous hours
