- Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Respond to and resolve customer issues and requests
- Serve as Manager on Duty, supervising guest service and concessions operations.
- Reconcile cashier deposits, count and verify the change fund, and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift.
- Responsible for training guest service personnel.
- Assist with inventory control and supply deliveries.
- Monitor inventory stock and order supplies.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of concession and guest service areas.
- Ensure that concession facilities adhere to all health codes.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Responsible for food preparation.
- Serve food items to guests.
- Act as cashier on Point-of-Sale system (CivicRec)
- Act as Guest Services staff person as needed.
- Follow established City of University Park policies and procedures
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance
QualificationsIf hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:
- Attend mandatory drug testing
- Attend mandatory orientation
- Attend all paid pre-season training sessions
- Attend all mandatory paid in-service trainings as scheduled
- Be at work on time for every scheduled shift
- Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
- Wear staff uniform only while on duty
- Work weekdays, weekends, holidays, opening and closing shifts, and Holmes Aquatic Center special events.
- Be willing to substitute for others.
- Be willing to work together for the better of the team.
- Report to the Aquatics Coordinator (or Pool Manager on duty if the Aquatics Coordinator is not on site)
- Maintain a clean work environment in and around the facility.
- Be available for a minimum of 70 work days during the season.
Knowledge & Skills
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- ServSafe Food Manager Certification
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer within 3 months of employment
- Prior experience operating a cash register
- Prior experience supervising employees
- Prior experience in customer service and food handling
Supplemental InformationWorking ConditionsWork is performed indoors and outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of a Food Service Manager will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being around harmful chemicals.Job Type- SeasonalIn accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 in a designated work week.ScheduleThe City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions.
