Food Services Weekend SupervisorJob TitleFood Services Weekend SupervisorDepartmentFood ServicesPosting Numberreq533Description of Job DutiesJob Summary:The Cafeteria Supervisor reports to the Cafeteria Manager in coordination with the Food Services Director with the primary duties of ensuring smooth operation of service, customer satisfaction, and enforcement of safety and sanitary procedures and policies for weekend dining operations. Acts as a resource for the food services department and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions. Assists with training and coordinating of staff.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervises the weekend staff on food prep for lines, and banquets as needed.
- Provide support services to the department in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors
- Ensure kitchen operations are running smoothly
- Check walk-in refrigerators for leftovers to be used in a timely manner
- Keep walk-ins clean, organized, and sanitary
- Ensure Food lines are set-up, open on time, and assist with providing needed materials
- Oversee student workers on appropriate dress, safety, and food prep.
- Coordinate with cooks to avoid running out of food while lines are open
- May periodically be required to assist within another role in the cafeteria
- Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the manager which could include such things as food storage, food labeling, sanitary upkeep, break timeliness, grocery list, advanced food production list, recipe overseeing, and employee needs are met

- Ability to work with, assist, lead, and take directions from others in the interest of running the cafeteria to its optimal efficiency

- Typical Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

- Two years previous experience in a commercial kitchen
- Strong written, verbal, basic math skills, and interpersonal skills
- Utilize kitchen equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of food production and handling and sanitary guidelines
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the President of SWOSU or their designee may find appropriate
