What You Bring to the Table As our Food Technologist II, you'll be the driving force behind elevating Lesaffre's industry-leading yeast ingredients across a diverse array of savory food applications. Leveraging your deep technical expertise, you'll evaluate, validate, and develop new product concepts - from soups and sauces to baked goods and beyond. Serving as a trusted advisor to our sales team, you'll lend your specialized knowledge to support customer-facing initiatives, enhancing flavor profiles, improving cost-efficiency, and developing clean label solutions. Collaborating closely with our Applications and Business Development teams, you'll stay on the pulse of emerging trends, proactively ideating new applications that push the boundaries of what's possible. - Applications
- Evaluate and validate a wide range of food applications featuring Lesaffre's yeast ingredients, from soups and sauces to baked goods and beverages
- Assess and demonstrate bench-scale industrial processes to optimize the use of our yeast extracts
- Explore new application areas for our current and innovative ingredient platforms in local and global markets
- Develop and prepare application concepts to support customer engagement and internal collaborations
- Customer
- Support customer-initiated projects focused on cost reduction, product matching, flavor enhancement, and clean label improvements
- Lead application-driven sales presentations, serving as the technical expert on leveraging our ingredients
- Advise customers on the optimal use of Lesaffre's yeast solutions across a variety of food applications
- Sensory
- Evaluate competitive products, recording detailed sensory information in a database
- Develop direct or blended matches using Lesaffre's yeast products to meet competitive benchmarks
- Trends
- Research emerging food trends and proactively develop new applications that leverage relevant innovations
- Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year College or university in Food Sciences, Culinary Science/Culinology, or technical sciences
- Experience in Research and Development, Sensory, or Product Development applications
- Ability to travel 10-15% for training, trade shows, and customer visits
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with business-to-business single ingredient applications or blended seasoning/flavor systems manufacturing preferred
