Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) is an educational organization. We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders to empower the students in overcoming challenges and creating new stories in their lives.We currently have an opening for a Spanish Foreign Language Teacher.JOB GOALEncourage students to develop their knowledge and skills in comprehending, speaking, reading and writing the Spanish language and broadening their understanding of the Spanish culture.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Instruct students daily on the knowledge and skills of the Spanish language
- Teach students about Spanish culture including geography, food, holidays, etc.
- Create and implement weekly lesson plans
- Assess and report students' performance
- Research and incorporate special tools and programs to promote an engaging learning environment
- Coordinate with administration to create individualized learning plans for the student
- Work and communicate with parents, home districts, and staff regarding students' progress
- Track the academic/behavioral goal performance of students for signs of progress
- Work with students one-on-one as needed when they need extra help
- Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior for the students in the classroom
- Creating clear objectives for lesson, units, and projects
- Maintain a positive relationship with other staff to provide a positive learning environment for the student
- Ability to work well with students from different backgrounds who have different abilities
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students
- Be a strong leader and motivator to students
- Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Pennsylvania Foreign Language Teaching Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Spanish or related field
- Experience from a previous school or agency is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form
- Must report to work regularly and punctually
- Experience in Microsoft Office is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
