Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for (1) full-time and experienced Lead Foreman - Civil. The Lead Foreman - Civil will support all aspects of Civil Field Operations originating out of the Civil Services Department of Field Services. The Lead Foreman - Civil must be available after-hours and weekends to answer calls from customers and Beitzel employees. This position must demonstrate mastery of all large equipment. The Lead Foreman - Civil must obtain a thorough understanding of all aspects of Civil Services must become proficient with the products and service equipment required to be an industry leader.
This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial excavation and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation and must be flexible and willing to work overnight/out-of-town and extended hours as needed.
What You'll Do:
- Communicating personnel, equipment and supply needs to the Civil Group Managers and Civil Group Foreman
- Oversight of job operations/company personnel as requested by the Civil Group Manager
- Prepare T&M tickets, receipts, and other paper work as required by the assigned job
- Perform the day to day activities assigned by the customer and or Group Manager and ensure that all required equipment inspections and emergency situations are resolved in a timely and efficient manner
- Operate roller and/or haul truck whenever requested
- Moving trucks, unloading trucks, operating heavy machinery (excavator, dozer, etc.), cleaning equipment, assuming laborer duties, and other duties as assigned by the customer
- Demonstrate mastery in Excavator, Dozer, and Loader
- Demonstrate mastery in fine grading with all large equipment
- Gain increased civil experience by providing support to Civil Operations
- Assist in coordinating maintenance, repairs, and additional work with the customer, and Division Management
- Participates in meetings with the Project Manager including (Pre, Review, and Post)
- Leads in minor and major jobs
- Aid other field personnel as needed
- Provide daily operations updates to Operations Management

What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A minimum of (5) years of Excavation Services experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of Civil Services and Excavation Services. Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately. Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
- Reads, plans and reviews drawings
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate any constructive problem solving possible
- Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations
- Ability to meet deadlines
Working Conditions
- Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach and lift; climb ladders and stairs; crawl; kneel
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted
- Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception
- Required safety equipment: Steel toe and/or metatarsal boots, protective eye wear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection
