Certain skills are needed to be aForeman.These areleadershipabilities, being able to motivate the team and get along with team members,experiencein the constructionindustry, excellentwritten and verbal communication in English,math skills.Reading blueprints and specifications, knowledge of safety requirements,a working knowledge of standard construction processes and procedures, including blueprint reading, fabricating building structures, working with power tools and heavy equipment.General Job Description:In addition to trade specific duties, the foreman will leada crew, conduct tailgate safety meetings to plan the day's work with their crew, and ensure the safe, timely and professional completion of assigned job tasks. The foreman will complete all necessary paperwork for the day, including a foreman timecard, safety meeting log, daily site inspection log, and any job specific logs that the day's work requires.The foremanwill be responsible for seeing that the overall work site is clean and neat at the endof the day, and that all small tools are accounted for. The foreman will ensure that tools and equipment are properly stored and put away at the end of the workday. The foreman will report to the on-site manager at the close of eachworkday to turn in daily reports, timecards, and other logs or paperwork as is required for job specific tasks. (Trenching and excavation forms when excavating, etc.) the foreman is alead man who trains and leads his crew by example with professionalism and courtesy.Essential JobRequirements:A Laborermustbe able to function wellregardingthe following: heavy work, uncontrolled environmental conditions, work sitesthat change as a function of work availability, occasional lifting up to 75lbs., routinelifting up to 50lbs.,bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing,handling, walking 8 to 10 hours, abilityto work in confined spaces and underground, being able to useall limbs for long periods of time, simultaneous usageof mental and physical coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.Key Areas of Responsibility: Safety, quality and productivity, with minimal supervision, related to the work. Use of all safety and personal protective equipment for the purpose intended. Cost effective communication and scheduling of concrete placements. Cleaning and maintenance of all related tools and equipment and general housekeeping. Handling hazardous materials.
