Work is performed under minimal supervision of the Program Director and Clinical Supervision of the Forensic Psychologist, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Responsibilities:
  • This position is accountable for the provision of outpatient competency restoration training services through the performance of various client-focused activities.
  • Weekly Competency training for consumers assigned for competency restoration in the designated region in cooperative effort in mental health/drug court dockets as needed as a link between judicial, law enforcement, mental health/IDD, and other related entities to coordinate positive outcomes for individuals served in outpatient competency restoration.
  • Work closely with the judicial system, county judges and attorneys.
  • Provide assistance to clients to establish community benefits as needed for client's moving to and/or continuing placement in the community environment.
  • Provide specialized services to a diverse population of individuals admitted to the Outpatient Competency Restoration program, including assessing client's needs, conducting psychosocial evaluations, and assessment, development, and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide referral and linking to community resources, monitor all aspects of care and treatment, including community needs such as housing, employment, and linking to resources in the community.
  • Conduct groups and individual training under the supervision of the LPHA/Director in treatment specific curricula within OCR treatment guidelines.
  • Coordinate services with designated county judicial systems and community services for clients deemed appropriate for the program.
Essential Duties:
  • Upon receiving a new referral, contact shall be made as soon as possible with a treatment plan implemented by the 5th day.
  • Complete documentation of all training hours provided to consumers.
  • Participate in scheduled program trainings and meetings.
  • Participate in clinical supervision related to competency restoration treatment methods and practices.
  • Participate in cooperative effort in dockets as needed as a link between judicial, law enforcement, mental health/IDD, and other related entities to coordinate positive outcomes for individuals served in community-based competency restoration.
  • Complete all required documentation within established timeframes.
Schedule:This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with additional hours as-needed and flexibility to meet the needs of the department.   • Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in a Human Services Field, (Sociology, Psychology, Family Studies, etc.), AND two (2) years of full-time experience in a related field, required.
  • Pursuing a Master's Degree in a Human Service related field, preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate (LPC-Associate), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate (LMFT-Associate), Licensed Master of Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and One (1) year of full-time experience in a related field, preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Local travel, with mileage reimbursement, is required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain security clearance at the Lubbock County Detention Center.
  • Must have a Texas driver's license, liability car insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
