DutiesResponsibilities are listed at the full performance level (GS-09)Performs supervisory duties 20% or less of the time.Assist with land management planning by collecting and analyzing field data used to complete environmental documents.Oversee determination of sale boundaries, proper location oflogging roads, acceptable marking and cutting methods, stumpage prices.Determine all resources needed to complete the layout of timber sales.Determine timber sale is consistent with legal and regulatory requirements.Identify environmental constraints affecting layout of timber sale project.Provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.Prepare detailed maps, timber sale appraisals, advertisements, prospectus and bid forms for timber sale.Ensure all timber sale preparation activities are in compliance with the appropriate decision document.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. Citizen or National.Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Examples of specialized experience are one or more of the following: Drafted timber cruise plans, performed lay out of timber sale boundaries; Summarized cruise and marking data for inclusion in reports describing timber quantity, resources, topographic features and timber marking guidelines; Prepared timber sale appraisals and contracts.ORTwo full years (36 semester/54 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level education or master's degree if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position such as: Forestry, Range Management, Agriculture.ORCombinations of graduate level education that is directly related to the position (in excess of 18 semester/27 quarter hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.For the GS-09: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 in the Federal service.
