Job Description:
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:30PM-12AM)Job Summary:
  • Drives industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as, forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam, elevating platform or trailer hitch. Pushes, pulls, lifts, stacks, tiers and moves products, equipment or materials in warehouse, storage yard or factory.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. 2. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area. 3. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. 4. May inventory materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed. 5. May weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules. 6. May load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. 7. May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied gas tank. 8. Perform required routing inspection per OSHA regulation. 9. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, safe and orderly manner.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • Education & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); up to one-three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass company forklift safety training program and maintain a company issued forklift license.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to communicate job related issues with supervisor, team leaders and other employees.
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to use simple mathematical devices, such as, calculators, scales, measuring tapes, etc.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must work at an ordinary pace, frequently handling material between 20 to 40 pounds and occasionally handle material over 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
