This role is located at our Macedon, NY facility.We are currently hiring for 2nd shift (3pm to 11:30pm). Starting hourly rate is $20.00/hour + (dependent on experience) with a shift differential of $0.75/hour for 2nd shift. These are direct hire roles, eligible for our fantastic benefits package (see below) the first of the month following your start date. Eligible candidates must have reliable transportation. This location is not on a bus route. WHAT WE NEED This position provides the safe transportation and storage of all ingredients, packaging and finished goods through BRF's facilities. Employees in this position are responsible for driving forklifts to load, unload trucks and storage racks; store and retrieve food products, equipment, or other materials to support food production, storage and distribution. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Performs equipment inspection and documents any deficiencies as required.
- Operates Forklifts and other equipment following BRF safety procedures. Maintains awareness of pedestrian traffic, docks, and racking conditions at all times when operating equipment. This is to include highly technical operation required as some areas of facility have close spacing
- Inspects and takes necessary corrective actions to ensure that pallet condition and load stability of materials allow for safe handling.
- Follows all BRF Safety procedures and GMPs
- Per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), receives vendor purchase orders, receives and transfers interplant product, locates product in storage locations, picks truckload and LTL orders in FIFO sequence, loads truckload and LTL carriers.
- Accurately follows Bills of Lading and Pick Lists and conducts supporting transactions in SAP to update Inventory.
- Loads and unloads trucks within standard time allocation and follows specified load distribution instructions.
- Receives, verifies counts, and places raw materials into specified warehouse storage locations.
- Inspects work area and maintains housekeeping to GMP and Food Safety standards at all times within shift. Reports
- Assists as assigned in organization and cleaning of dock, rack storage areas, and facility. Reports to Supervision any deficiencies that cannot be immediately corrected.
- Reports and takes actions required to correct or rework any damaged materials.
- Participates in internal audit programs and offers suggestions for improved operations.
- Inspects all incoming and outbound freight and trailer conditions. Takes corrective action as required to ensure delivery of freight in acceptable condition by following Shipping and Receiving SOPs and documented Inspection procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- A minimum of one-year of forklift operation experience
- Minimum of six months of continuous experience in a manufacturing or industrial food production facility and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift License preferred but not required, will certify.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Effectively read the Standard Operating Procedures, Bills of Lading, and Pick Lists, which are written in the English language, and complete associated paperwork. Fluently read and write in English language to ensure paperwork and record keeping is completed to SQF standards.
- Be able to accurately follow directions, work effectively in teams, and contribute a positive attitude each day.
- Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture and noise.
- Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, face mask
At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $20.00 - $26.00 per hour.
