- Operate power driven forklift to load, unload, store and deliver coils, in-process supplies, materials and finished products (including up to 30,000 lb. capacity machinery as required. Service production/shipping areas with materials and supplies as needed.
- Unload materials from trucks and load materials into trucks for shipment to the customer.
- Store materials by type and size in assigned storage area.
- Store coils/supplies for storage in manner prescribed by safety rules.
- Empty gondolas as needed of rubbish and scrap.
- Maintain inventory and housekeeping.
- Transport drums of waste oils and chemicals to storage area and label properly.
Must be able to lift 40lbs and drive a forklift to include the following activities:
- Must be able to stack metal briquettes continuously throughout each shift
- Must be able to move levers or controls that operate lifting devices such as: forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, elevating platforms to load unload, transport, or stack material.
- Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
- Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
- Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
- Move controls to drive propane-powered trucks and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
- Know how to safely fill propane tanks and/or change propane tank on forklift
- Must be an effective and solid communicator.
- Must know how to read, comprehend, and interpret paperwork and schedules.
- Must have basic computer skills
- Previous forklift driving experience is required.
