**HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:**
Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, the Forklift Operator will be responsible for ensuring that our product is moved within our warehouse in a safe and efficient manner, that proper inventory is maintained, and good housekeeping and manufacturing practices are upheld.
You will accomplish this by:
* Loading and unloading of tractor-trailer trucks in a timely and accurate manner
* Maintaining the integrity of products through proper handling and storage
* Maintaining accurate inventories
* Ensuring safe operation of a forklift
* Conducting daily safety inspections of forklift vehicle(s)
* Ensuring facility maintenance through housekeeping, keeping product and facility secure, and maintaining the assets of the facility
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures
* Operating other industrial vehicles and equipment

**WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:**
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* One year related experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment. Certification preferred
* Ability to perform standard shipping and receiving functions
* Good vision, ability to follow oral and written instructions; detail oriented and organized; self motivated and able to meet manufacturing deadlines in a fast paced environment
* Capable of expertly prioritizing and multi-tasking
**Physical and Mental Efforts**
* Requires long periods of time spent sitting in forklift, standing on hard surface, with substantial amount of pushing, pulling and lifting. Position requires ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds, perform moderately difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely, and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
* Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time and be able to communicate verbally and written.
**Environmental and Working Conditions**
* This job functions year-round both indoors and outdoors in a traditional manufacturing/ warehouse setting. Activities will include sitting and standing. These activities will occur in the outdoors and in production areas with varying temperatures between different areas.
