Providence Staffing's client is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for their manufacturing plant in Sylacauga, AL. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for the efficient and safe transportation of materials to designated areas within the plant. This a 10- hour shift.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

- Operate forklifts to move materials throughout the manufacturing plant.
- Load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas.
- Transport incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements.
- Follow company work instructions and procedures involving packing/shipping operations, health/safety, and C-TPAT.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment (5S Duties).
- Participate in quality improvement efforts.
- Assist with other tasks as needed and assigned by the manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be forklift certified.
- 1+ years related experience or equivalent.
- Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to walk, bend, and climb stairs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must wear appropriate safety equipment.
Work Environment:
A large percentage of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures can be hot or cold, and the noise level can be moderate to high.
Compensation:
The compensation for this position is $15.00 per hour. This is a term-to-perm position.
