Overview:
Forklift Operator - starting at $19.00
Responsibilities:
- Support General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defence Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.
- Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitor
- Must pass company forklift training and maintain certification.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager
- Participates in safety inspections and is accountable for his/her own safety and the safety of co-workers.
- Hooks up and monitors flour deliveries and receives into SAP.
- Hooks up and monitor soybean deliveries and receives into SAP.
- Keep all warehouse locations clean and organized.
- Replenishes raw material for staging and processes for production.
- Receive all purchase orders in SAP.
- Manages raw material returns from production back to the warehouse location.
- Report any damage to the building or product immediately.
- Creates bill of ladings for all outbound shipments thru SAP.
- Report issues including product safety and quality to Manager immediately.
- Responsible for filling out paperwork correctly.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work area.
- Complete Forklift Inspections Sheet daily before each use. Turn the completed form into the warehouse office at the end of your shift. Notify Warehouse Manager of any issues.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner, adhering to required methods of use as explained during training.
- Maintain building security by keeping doors closed/locked at all times.
- Cleaning/housekeeping will be done when youre assigned an area.
- Know where emergency STOP and START/STOP buttons are located.
- When necessary, wear gloves while handling product.
- Follow all companys GMP procedures.
- Perform all special requests by the Warehouse Manager
- Train on all SAP functions pertaining to the warehouse.
- Assist with physical inventory processes.
- Works and communicates with others to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
- Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
- Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment requiring repetitive work preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally & written and work well with Team Members and Management
- Basic mechanical aptitude and good math skills are helpful.
- Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior forklift experience preferred.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- Working in a manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required to speak, read, and comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Stand for up to 12 hours with regular breaks.
- May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.
- SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) and smocks are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the Team Member.
