Job Summary: The Forklift Operator will safely provide timely, efficient loading, unloading, and inventory movement services.
Job Description Essential Functions - Loading, unloading, and movement of all materials for plant and warehouse operations that requires the use of the fork lift.
- Checking the proper stacking, wrapping, and banding of any materials on skids to ensure its safe transport and storage.
- Using safety when operating a fork lift and pallet jack and follow all safety procedures and policies.
- Check incoming product for accuracy in wrapping and labeling as necessary.
- Lifting of boxes and other materials up to 75 pounds.
- Inspecting engine oil level and other fluid levels to ensure proper engine performance daily and completing a daily inspection sheet before operating a tow motor.
- Cleaning fork lift daily, especially dust from the radiator - this must be done daily.
- Coordinating storage of materials with warehouse personnel.
- Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Regular, reliable attendance, as defined in Goodwill's attendance policy.
- Other duties as assigned by management including unloading trailers by hand.
Minimum Qualifications Required Skills: Education Experience Knowledge and Skills - Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to work as a team member.
- Ability to drive a fork lift safely and follow all safety regulations and policies.
- Must have the ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Must have knowledge of proper methods of lifting, pushing, and pulling materials.
- Must be able to learn the techniques of the job from short demonstration up to and including one month.
- Must be able to read and do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Certifications and Licenses - Goodwill Fork lift certification is required.
