The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the mobile equipment.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not all inclusive and may not include all duties assigned):
- Responsible for operating a forklift in a safe manner.
- Receive and put away unload inbound material safely and move to storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store materials in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Efficiently move material from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.
- Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.
- Maintain the Depot's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety; Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment as scheduled.
QualificationsABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Must satisfactorily complete a forklift training program and able to obtain Certification.
- A strong understanding about machinery and parts nomenclature is necessary.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of Fork-lifts and mechanical material lifting devices.
- Knowledge of Inspecting and maintaining vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights and brakes in order to ensure safety.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing, industrial or warehouse environment
