OVERVIEW
Brooklyn based manufacturing company is looking for an experienced forklift operator to support shipping/receiving activity, as well as work alongside the production team. This individual will be responsible for carefully loading and unloading trucks, sorting, labeling, and cross-checking material with customer's orders. This individual will also be required to perform assorted production duties as required.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Load and unload trucks via a loading dock• Pick proper material to fill customer orders• Prior to shipment, carefully check the quantity, quality, and labeling, to ensure the order is being filled correctly.• Upon receipt of material, carefully cross-check the product quantities with the manifest and check for damage• Complete required paperwork to support order fulfillment • Tend or operate machines on the production line as needed• Perform other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experienced operating a forklift and working in a warehouse.• Quick learner, excellent attention to detail, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.• Basic math skills required, using whole numbers and decimals• Able to read a ruler.• Frequently lift and move material weighing 50 lbs., and stand for long hours• Mechanically inclined and machine experience is a plus
