B.L. Harbert International is looking for a Forklift Operator to work at our project at the Shades Mountain Filter Plant in Birmingham, Alabama. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift vehicle to lift, move, unload, stack and stage materials
- Safely and efficiently operate the forklift by following the best operating practices with the Safety Managers guidance and orientation which complies to OSHA standards
- Safely handle materials using the forklift
- Ensure vehicle receives maintenance and keep record of parts, maintenance schedules and forklift equipment manual
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by organizing the workplace, assigning a clean-up crew at the end of the day, stowing away tools and small equipment properly and implementing the 5S methodology
- Promote and maintain quality service by following B.L. Harbert's Supply Chain processes, procedures and guides for proper operations execution
Requirements:
- 10,000 or more Forklift Certified
- High level of construction material knowledge
- Ability to work in a fast pasted environment
- Ability to work well on a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge or construction terminology and processes
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Preferences:
- Ability to work flexible hours
