DescriptionJob Title: Forklift OperatorDepartment: Shipping and ReceivingReports To: SupervisorShift: Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pmJob Summary: Bingham & Taylor is seeking an enthusiastic Forklift Driver to operate powered industrial trucks, bobcats, bucket loaders, and tractors to move materials around various areas of the facility, including the warehouse, storage yard, plastics, cleaning, dip area, cupola area, and foundry. The role requires adherence to safety, quality, and production standards while ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of materials. Fluency in English is required for this position, as effective communication is essential for successful job performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely move product loads around the facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
- Load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, and transport vehicles using mechanical or manual methods.
- Operate gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
- Use controls to operate lifting devices such as forklifts, hoists, and elevating platforms to load, unload, and transport materials.
- Secure materials or products for transport, ensuring safe and efficient movement to designated areas.
- Weigh materials or products and record data such as weight and production information on tags or labels.
- Cross-train to perform Shipping Clerk and Receiving Clerk tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts and other industrial equipment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols when operating heavy machinery.
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift and transport materials safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements: This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
