Questions before applying? 785-###-####Role:The Foster Family Development Coordinator will provide recruitment, training, licensing, and supportive services for resource families who serve children in out of home placement. This position will collaborate with Child and Family Services (CFS) staff for all out-of-home placement activities and be responsible for keeping staff informed of all current resources to families that are available. The position will also work with and provide resources for parents and families whose children are in and out of home care, as needed. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all minimum requirements by the closing date of this announcement.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Driving: Valid Kansas Driver's license free of occupational restrictions. Must be insurable with the Nation's insurance carrier..Experience: MINIMUM: Six months previous experience in child or youth care, teaching, foster care, delinquency prevention, juvenile court systems, community work related to children and youth, mental health systems, nursing or other areas involving contact or interaction with youth or families.PREFERRED: Two years of experience working in child or youth care, teaching, foster care, delinquency prevention, juvenile court systems, community work related to children and youth, mental health systems, nursing or other areas involving contact or interaction with youth or families.Education: MINIMUM: Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW)PREFERRED: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position. Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions. Knowledge:
  • Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Psychology: Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Therapy and Counseling: Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
