Location: Clifton Park,NY, USA
The Shay Legacy Foundation (the Foundation), a subsidiary of the Trucking Association of New York (TANY), seeks a manager to oversee all operations of the Foundation. The manager is responsible for all fundraising activities, including grant applications, to support the Foundation's scholarship, safety, workforce development and education programs. Additionally, this position will manage the scheduling and use of the Foundation's commercial driving simulator to support workforce development and educational programs.
A successful candidate will be a driven, self-starter with the ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail. Experience with managing drivers and familiarity with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations is preferred but not required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepares and processes grant applications
· Manages all grant rewards
· Meets with potential donors
· Plans and organizes all fundraising events for the Foundation
· Responsible for tracking donations, generating invoices and basic bookkeeping tasks
· Attends certain TANY events to support fundraising activities
· Manages and administrates the TANY Leadership Program
· Manages and administrates the Foundation Scholarship Program
· Prepares and distributes agenda and information for the Foundation Board of Directors
· Attends and keeps minutes of all board meetings
· Implements the Foundation Strategic Plan
· Schedules use of the Foundation's commercial driving simulator
· Manages drivers to transport the Foundation's commercial driving simulator
QUALIFICATIONS
· Two to four years fundraising experience including grant writing
· Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, but not required
· Previous experience with non-profit fundraising
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
· Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines
· Ability to monitor and meet income goals
· Excellent attention to detail
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent customer service skills
· Proficient in MS Office applications and Office 365
· Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
