POSITION SUMMARY
The Foundation Manager oversees a growing portfolio in New York and is responsible for cultivating and stewarding institutional partners and soliciting grant opportunities. As a skilled grant-writer and project manager, they will work closely with the Director of Institutional Giving and the Executive Director of STRIVE New York to manage and grow existing foundation and corporate funding, identify and pursue new funding opportunities, and build the overall institutional giving portfolio. The work is detail-oriented and requires excellent grant-writing, communication, relationship, and project management skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage the funding portfolio for STRIVE New York, including all moves management from initial engagement to proposals and reports
* Identify, cultivate, and engage corporate and local foundation funders supporting the relationship building of the Executive Director of STRIVE New York and the Executive team
* Project manage and write city and state grants, as needed
* Proposal development and writing; copy-editing; proofreading; and assisting in submissions.
* Maintain a master project management of proposal deadlines, progress reports, and final grant reports, ensuring timely submissions and adherence to deadlines for STRIVE New York
* Work with STRIVE leadership and program staff to identify strategies for institutional partners on an annual basis
* Work with Development Associate and Finance team to ensure proper grant kick-off processes and grant management
* Other duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree required
* Four to seven years of work experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in securing six-figure grants of both private and public funding
* Ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team
* The intelligence, maturity and sound judgment necessary for interacting with donor prospects, board members, and executive staff
* Excellent writing and analytical skills
* Experience conducting stewardship activities to cultivate and maintain positive donor and foundation relationships.
* Familiarity with fundraising software (Foundation Center, Blackbaud products) and project management software (Asana) are encouraged but not required.
* Knowledge of the New York funding community is a benefit
* Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft office

Location: This position will be in-person a minimum of two days per week at STRIVE New York's office in East Harlem
Compensation: Compensation for this position will be based STRIVE's geographic differential and the individual's education background and work experience.
